Policies
What we do if the weather turns, what happens at the dock.
Weather
Captain's call. If the wind, lightning, or sea state is unsafe, we reschedule at no cost. Light rain or a little chop usually doesn't cancel the trip — fish bite well in marginal weather.
Cancellations
If you have to cancel for your own reason, please call as early as possible so we can fill the slot. Trips inside 48 hours that the captain doesn't cancel may forfeit a deposit.
Fishing license
You don't need one. The captain's USCG charter license covers all passengers on the boat. No individual NC saltwater license required.
Kids
Welcome from age 6 and up at the captain's discretion. Doug is calm and patient with first-time young anglers — it's one of the most-mentioned things in reviews.
Fish cleaning
No charge. Doug cleans and bags any keepers at the dock when we come in. Previous customers have noted he'll freeze it if you're not staying nearby.
What to bring
Sunscreen, a hat, polarized sunglasses, a non-glass cooler, and lunch for a full day. Everything else is on the boat.
