We always catch fish with Captain Doug!
“I've been out fishing with Captain Doug multiple times over the years. And every time I've gone out with him we have caught multiple fish. My favorite kind to catch has been red drum, also known as red fish or puppy drum. Once my son caught a cobia, which was pretty exciting. Captain Doug is great at what he does and always knows the best places in the Pamlico Sound to catch fish. Other boats sometimes follow him around because they know his reputation.”

Always a great time with Cap'n Doug
“We have been using Captain Doug for years, and have never had a bad trip. He will work hard to put you on fish, and is a great all round guy. Went with him in May and had 4 North Carolina citation reds in one trip. Will be going out again in October. He is definitely the best in Hatteras!”

Doug always puts in the extra effort
“You won't find a more dedicated charter captain on Hatteras Island. We've been fishing with Capt. Doug Martin out of Teach's Lair Marina for years and in all that time I can only remember one day when it was slow, I guess that's why they call it fishing and not catching. We have limited out almost every time and when we do Doug changes it up and we target another species.”

A great day with the grandkids
“Even though the wind was a little challenging, Doug took my two granddaughters and me into the Hatteras inlet and had us casting for bluefish right away! We caught about 28 before we decided to go for red drum. He took us behind Ocracoke Island and we caught 6 large red drum, 4 were keepers and 2 were too big to keep! The girls had a fantastic day! They told me they'd rather do this than go offshore.”

Best Inshore Captain on the Island
“My husband and boys (age 13 and 8) fished with Capt. Doug on July 5th and had the time of their lives! Doug put them on the fish. They caught speckled trout and bluefish. He does absolutely everything he can to find the fish so that you have the best possible experience. Doug is great at explaining to the kids how to use the equipment without yelling (big plus) and reacts calmly when you get into the fish.”

Top Notch Fishing
“I've been fishing with Hallelujah Charters for the past 5 years. Always a great time and Captain Doug always manages to find the species we are looking for. This year we caught a 4 man limit of Speckled Trout and then went after Sheepshead. Captain Doug knows the sound like the back of his hand and I have never left the dock with him and not returned without fish.”
